FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. – WAIglobal announced today it has made a significant strategic investment in Sovereign Rotating Machines, located in Bognor Regis, West Sussex, in the United Kingdom.

Founded in 1996, Sovereign Rotating Machines is a full-line remanufacturer of starters and alternators and also manufactures and markets ignition leads and coils. Sovereign services a broad base of aftermarket customers throughout the U.K. and the joint venture will both expand the WAIglobal product offering and provide additional resources to assist Sovereign in maximizing the strong growth it has been experiencing.

WAIglobal manufactures and distributes 100 percent new alternators, starters and components, covering the automotive, heavy duty, industrial, agricultural, powersports, marine and outdoor power equipment markets. Other product lines offered by WAIglobal include ignition distributors, wiper motors and engine management products.

Richard Welland, managing director of Sovereign Rotating Machines, said, “This is an exciting time for Sovereign and we are delighted to be partnering with WAIglobal in this new venture. Both companies share the same philosophy in our commitment to provide our customers with the very highest levels of quality, service and availability across an extensive range of rotating electrical products and we’re looking forward to working together in the future.”

Jeff Sween, CEO of WAIglobal, added, “This is also very good news for our international customers, both new and existing, as we are able to jointly increase our aftermarket offering across all sectors, as well as pooling our expertise and resources to provide innovative, quality products at market leading prices.”
