GRAND BLANC, Mich. ACDelco has announced that Carolyn Cook will become general director of ACDelco, effective Friday.
Cook has responsibility for ACDelco across North America and says she plans to grow business "the old-fashioned way -- one satisfied consumer at a time."
“Whether customers decide to have their vehicles serviced at a dealer, independent service center or a national chain repair center, their basic needs are the same: Understand what I need, give me a competitive estimate, do the work on time and communicate with me throughout the process,” said Cook. “Everything we do needs to be focused on the consumer. We must meet their needs, give them a reason to return and, for our GM vehicle owners, make sure they love their vehicle.”
Cook brings extensive aftermarket experience to her new post. She has been on assignment in Europe since 2007, most recently as director of aftersales for Chevrolet Europe. She also has served as regional parts manager for the Northeast Region and plant manager of the Drayton Plains (Mich.) Processing Center. Cook also has been a field representative.
Cook said her goal as ACDelco director will be to support distributors with the right supply of quality parts, competitive pricing and valuable support services such as training so their secondary customers can keep consumers coming back.
“Growing the independent aftermarket is a team sport,” she said. “And technicians know that when they use ACDelco parts, they get the support of an entire ACDelco team.”
Cook, a native of Massena, N.Y., has a bachelor’s degree from General Motors Institute (now Kettering University) and an MBA in marketing from Mount St. Mary’s College.
