LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y. – SMP has introduced a complete line of TechSmart brand electronic throttle bodies. With coverage through the 2010 model year for General Motors and Ford vehicles, SMP says TechSmart "leads the pack" with more than 30 premium, OE direct replacement electronic throttle body units.

“Today’s drive-by-wire vehicles are growing increasingly complex. Technicians told us they needed a cost-effective solution to repair this common problem,” said Joe Donaggio, manager of new product development for SMP. “TechSmart responded with a complete solution for replacing expensive OE electronic throttle bodies.”

When a vehicle’s electronic throttle body malfunctions, drivers may notice a loss in throttle response, non-responsive cruise control or even a check engine light illuminated on their dash. According to SMP, TechSmart electronic throttles come as a complete assembly, including throttle position sensors to ensure that the problem is solved the first time.

TechSmart by SMP enhances OE products with problem-solving improvements, new categories and cutting-edge technology, according to the company. TechSmart parts are complementary to the SMP core product offering.

The initial launch featured 119 parts in 28 categories.
