STAUNTON, Va. – Federated has announced the running of the 16th annual Federated Auto Parts 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race scheduled for Saturday, July 23 at the Nashville Superspeedway in Nashville, Tenn. Although the race is the centerpiece of the weekend, there will also be several other activities including a pre-race concert and the NASCAR driving experience on the Superspeedway track the day after the race for the winners of Federated's annual “Start Your Engines” sweepstakes.

“The Federated 300 has become a must-attend event for our members, their customers and our manufacturing partners,” said J.R. Bishop, Federated’s director of motorsports. “It is a great weekend of racing and fun, and some people even get a little business done.”

The Federated 300 will be televised by ESPN at 7:30 p.m. EST on July 23 and is the only NASCAR race that weekend as the Sprint Cup series is taking the weekend off. More than 1,200 Federated customers are expected to be on-hand in Nashville, and one of those customers will have the chance to win a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro during race weekend.

Federated also will conduct its annual “Start Your Engines” sweepstakes, where lucky contest winners will get to enjoy their own NASCAR driving experience with NASCAR legend and longtime Federated spokesman Kenny Schrader.

Federated’s other spokesman, Kenny Wallace, also will have a busy weekend in Nashville as he will be racing the Federated Auto Parts RAB Racing Toyota in the Nationwide race on Saturday night.

“Our entire motorsports program is designed to help our members improve and grow their businesses,” said Bishop. “The Federated 300 weekend is a great example of a fantastic event where our members, their customers and our manufacturing partners can all get together for some fun and business all in one place.”
