MILAN, Italy – In order to facilitate the consolidation and the development of leadership in the growing markets of South America, Pirelli Tire has appointed Mauro Pessi as president and CEO of the South America Region, effective immediately.

In order to maintain continuity of Pirelli’s business strategy in North America, Pessi also will retain the chairmanship of the Pirelli NAFTA Region.

In addition, to support the challenging growth of Pirelli in the NAFTA region, Pirelli has appointed Matteo Battaini as CEO.  Battaini’s 20 years of experience as a manager with Pirelli includes a strong background in demand planning, supply chain and product management that will help ensure Pirelli’s consistent and unwavering commitment to the region, the company noted.
