RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Three students have been awarded scholarships by the Leadership Development Network (LDN) to pursue careers in the automotive aftermarket.

These students will receive a $1,000 scholarship to advance their education, either at two-year vocational/technical colleges or four-year colleges and universities.

This year’s recipients are:

• Brennen Cernuda, Frankfort, Ill.
• Zachary Corey, Sandy Hook, Va.
• David Hornby, Williamsburg, Va.

“The LDN is proud to support these students in the pursuit of their passion for education, while investing in the aftermarket’s future,” said Bryan Funke, 2011 LDN chairman, and director, sales and client services, aftermarket and commercial vehicle, Polk.

The LDN is among many organizations and associations that use the online scholarship application process available at the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) Scholarship website, www.AutomotiveScholarships.com.

GAAS recently presented 87 scholarships in its initial round of awards for the 2011-2012 academic year. In its 16-year history, the fund has presented more than $1.5 million in awards to more than 1,500 students.
