SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance (The Alliance) has announced the addition of Tidewater Fleet Supply of Chesapeake, Va., as its newest Bumper to Bumper shareholder member. Tidewater operates five warehouse locations throughout Southeastern Virginia.

Established in 1953, Tidewater is a full line automotive, truck and heavy equipment parts distributor serving Southeast Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina. The company operates five distribution locations in Chesapeake, Hampton, Norfolk, Richmond and Virginia Beach, Va., and also operates three municipal garage parts counters and inventory in Chesapeake, Hampton and the Newport News Shipyard.

“We are delighted to announce Tidewater Fleet Supply as a new shareholder in Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance,” said John Washbish, president and CEO of The Alliance. “Their membership is effective May 1, and their profile perfectly matches the high standards we have for acceptance into our group. Allan Parrott and his team at Tidewater have done a phenomenal job in establishing themselves as a premier WD, and we are honored that they have chosen us over the many options they had for group affiliation.”

Parrott added, “Joining The Alliance as a Bumper to Bumper WD represents the logical next step in the evolution of our growing business. It was pretty clear to us from the beginning of this process that they are just farther along in terms of marketing strength, technology tools, private label development and overall buying power than any other groups we considered,” Parrott continued. “They have a strategic vision, and our business not only aligns perfectly with it, but will benefit tremendously from it. We’re very excited to be joining such a well established, legitimate WD organization.”
