AVON LAKE, Ohio – Design Engineering Inc. (DEI) has announced the appointment of Ken Maynard, a seasoned race enthusiast, business owner and repair technician, as the company’s new product manager for SPA Turbo, USA. 

Maynard was hired in late 2010 to oversee the development and promotion of DEI’s SPA Turbo, USA product line. Prior to joining DEI, Maynard worked as the director of engineering for MISCO Refractometer in Beachwood, Ohio, and was the former owner of Pressure Treated Technologies in Cleveland, Ohio. He began his career as a service manager and technician for BGE Technologies in Lakewood, Ohio, immediately following graduation with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Bryant & Stratton Business College.
 
Maynard commented, “My focus was on the V8 community until my mid-20s, when I became heavily involved with the sport compact/turbocharger performance community.”

He is an experienced design engineer that has a great grasp of marketing in a competitive environment and a desire to help people achieve their power goals on or off the track. As the North American distributor for SPA Turbo, DEI offers a complete line of turbine housings, turbo manifolds westgate mounts and fuel pressure regulators for the performance market. Maynard will be responsible for the growth, promotion and development of this turbocharger product line in the United States.
