WALLED LAKE, Mich. – Quest Specialty Chemicals (QSC), a top 25 North American coatings manufacturer, announced this week that the sale of its company was completed on March 21. New ownership has been passed on to the Audax Group, located in Boston, Mass., and Moelis Capital Partners, located in New York.

This acquisition strengthens the overall Quest platform, which consists of two divisions: Quest Specialty Coatings and Quest Construction Products. The coatings division includes: Raabe Company, Foxcolor, Matrix System Automotive Finishes, Zolatone and Custom Finishes. The construction products division is made up of United Coatings and HydroStop. Overall, Quest’s goal is to continue building these two divisions through acquisition.

According to CEO Fred Quinn, there is no change in the management of Quest or in the activities of the company's operating facilities.

"The value that our new owners have recognized is in our people, operations and potential to acquire new acquisitions that fit our overall purpose to 'Repair, Restore, and Preserve' the assets of our company,” Quinn.
