LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y. – SMP has announced the availability of its Standard brand electronic illustrated parts guide now on DVD. This new resource delivers additional, unique features not available in a printed catalog. One of the most important benefits of this electronic parts guide is the ability to regularly update the data electronically, SMP says.

Key features include:

• Flexible part, product and interchange search capabilities
• Multi-level search and filter functions enable custom catalog creation
• Exact number or string search functions provide flexible search options for part numbers or OE/competitor numbers
• Includes all multiple-view color images
• Hover over function provides enlarged image views
• Easily print anything from a single part information page to a large book
• Can print single or multiple product categories by make
• Includes different quality levels/brands, where available
• Part attributes are searchable within a product category
• Select product types grouped together for easier selection of “like” items
• Includes attributes and compressed applications by part number
• Data can be saved to a file for further analysis or presentation in an alternate form
• Complete catalog provided as a flippable, searchable PDF
• Extensive tutorial covers everything from program setup to printing of catalogs

The Standard brand electronic illustrated parts guide is designed to be easily installed on a computer. Directions are included on the face of the DVD. Given the extensive amount of data and images included, users must have approximately 4GB of hard drive space available.

Updates will be available through an Internet update process that will automatically compare the data on a user’s computer to the latest available information, and only update data that has changed.

Copies of the DVD are available from local territory managers.
