In a recent annual study, IMR Inc. asked independent repair shops, "Do you work on the following imports?" For each year cited, the sample size includes more than 2,500 independent repair shops with a total of 7,800 independent repair shops interviewed in aggregate. Responses to the survey show from which import nameplates independent repair shops derive a portion of their business.
In total, Toyota/Lexus remain the brands most frequently worked on by independent repair shops. It should come as no surprise that with the growing population of these vehicles on the road today, that more and more repair shops are working on them.
