FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. -- CarMD.com Corp. has achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification for its quality management system governing the marketing of consumer automotive diagnostic products and services. Achieving the ISO 9001:2008 level of certification requires CarMD to conform to a quality management system, demonstrate its ability to consistently deliver products that meet customer and regulatory requirements and strive to achieve high customer satisfaction through continuous improvement.

ISO -- the International Organization for Standardization -- is the world's largest developer and publisher of international standards. It is the source of the ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 families of quality and environmental management standards and international standards for business, government and society. ISO is a network of national standards institutes from 163 countries working in partnership with international organizations, governments, industry and business and consumer representatives.

"The CarMD management team has strong engineering and marketing backgrounds led by a management team with a collective half-century of experience in their respective fields," said Art Jacobsen, director of business development for CarMD.com. "We pride ourselves on the ability to apply this experience to continued product and customer service improvements. This ISO certification validates our solid business practices and helps give us the structure we need to effectively grow with our customer base, which more than doubled last year."

CarMD's core product is its award-winning CarMD Vehicle Health System, which includes a hand held device and web-based information to help drivers diagnose their car's health, catch important safety issues and estimate repair costs. CarMD also offers value-added vehicle safety and maintenance information for an annual membership fee or single-purchase transaction. And the company is testing several prototypes and pilot programs for other products and services, including self-serve retail kiosks and mobile alerts.

"We are pleased to have passed this rigorous audit process that earned CarMD the ISO 9001:2008 certification on our first attempt," said Andrew Copelin, CarMD's quality control supervisor. "We would like to thank the many employees, consultants and vendors involved in making this recognition a reality."
