ALLIANCE, Ohio – Looking to create stability for the long-term, Alliance, Ohio-based Terry's Tire Town added a new equity partner.

According to Will Tolerton, president, CEO and COO of Terry’s Tire Town, the company brought in Talisman Capital Partners as an investment partner last fall.

While details of the deal were not disclosed, Tolerton said he remains “a very substantial shareholder” in the dealership. “I still love the tire business, and I intend to stay in the tire business for years to come.”

Talisman Capital Partners, based in Columbus, Ohio, is an investment partnership run by Bob Walter, who founded Cardinal Health.

A member distributor of American Car Care Centers, Terry’s Tire Town operates a massive warehouse/distribution center in Alliance, as well as seven retail stores in the Alliance/Canton area. The company also has warehouses in Richmond, Va., and Baltimore.

Without elaborating, Tolerton said the partnership “gives us the opportunity to keep our company in this form for decades and take advantage of opportunities to grow and expand. These guys are in it for the long haul.”

One area Tolerton did say would receive attention will be to “expand our value proposition to our customers” with “better, more progressive ways to help our customers sell more tires.”
