BETHESDA, Md. -- Members of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) are invited to participate in “Assessing Opportunities for Doing Business in China’s Aftermarket,” a complimentary one-hour Webinar that will take place from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. EST today. The Webinar will feature Steve Ganster, senior vice president, Tompkins International, and managing director of Technomic Asia, Tompkins International’s Shanghai-based subsidiary.

For a second consecutive year, China’s new car sales have eclipsed the sale of new cars in the U.S., as China’s vast and growing middle class seeks car ownership. It is estimated that the number of light passenger vehicles on China’s roads will reach almost 80 million by 2012, a greater than 20-fold increase over the 3.5 million vehicles operated in 1995. Yet, the growth of China’s aftermarket infrastructure to support the huge increase in vehicles, has not kept pace. And, while American, European and other foreign companies have for years increased their aftermarket presence in China, the burgeoning Chinese aftermarket continues to offer opportunities for competitive firms to help build and shape the industry.

The Webinar will address:

• Characteristics of the Aftermarket in China – Both the Attractions and Challenges

• How Does My Company Get China Ready – What Questions Do I Ask?

• Strategy Before Structure: Once I Understand My Opportunities, I Then Can Consider the Structure for Market Entry

Space is limited. Reserve your Webinar seat now at https://www3.gotomeeting.com/register/549061614.

After registering you will receive a confirmation e-mail containing information about joining the Webinar.
