DANBURY, Conn. -- The Clorox Company's former Global AutoCare Business makes its debut today under the new name Armored AutoGroup Inc.

The new Armored AutoGroup brand name is intended to reflect the company's history in the automotive aftermarket via two well-known brands -- Armor All and STP.

Avista Capital Partners acquired the assets of the Global AutoCare Business from Clorox on Nov. 5 through Viking Acquisition Inc.

Commenting on the company’s new status, David Lundstedt, Armored AutoGroup's chairman and CEO, said, "As an independent company, Armored AutoGroup is well-positioned to build upon the strength of the Armor All and STP brands by focusing on product innovation, strengthening our partnerships with retailers and executing our international growth strategy. In addition, we are on-track to introduce several exciting new products during the upcoming year."

Armored AutoGroup employs more than 160 people and is headquartered in Danbury, Conn., with additional corporate offices in Pleasanton, Calif., and manufacturing facilities in Painesville, Ohio, and Wales, U.K. The company has a diversified geographic footprint with direct operations in the United States, Canada, Australia and the U.K., and distributor relationships in approximately 50 countries.
