CHICAGO – Turtle Wax, a company known for giving vehicles a high-quality shine, is getting ready to give loyal fans something else.

Throughout the month of November, Turtle Wax will be giving away a $50 Walmart gift card to one lucky randomly chosen winner each week. To enter, Facebook users need to simply "like" Turtle Wax on Facebook and post an “I’m thankful for…” message on the Turtle Wax wall. Users then check back each week to see if they’ve won.

“It's our way of saying thank you to our many, many fans who have supported us throughout the years,” the company stated.

Continuing a longstanding tradition, Turtle Wax says it built its foundation on giving. In 1941, founder Benjamin Hirsch developed a wax compound unlike any other. To demonstrate how great it worked, he'd go to a parking lot, choose a car and give it a free shine. When the owner came out and saw the results, they were sold. The plan worked, and Turtle Wax has been family owned and operated ever since, the company says.
