EDMOND, Okla. -- More and more North American manufacturers are seeking ways to build their overseas exports. Remy Power Products, through the efforts of its Export Sales team, says it is succeeding in achieving that goal.
Since the team was created in August of last year, Remy Power Products says it has seen steady growth in its export sales with support from its global sales representatives and an expanding global distribution network.
“The global marketplace is a real challenge for North American manufacturers,” said Jay Sanchez, president of Remy Power Products. “It’s no secret that manufacturers in low-cost countries are increasingly creating their own versions of our products and are able to sell them at substantially lower prices.”
Sanchez stresses the importance of not succumbing to low-price sellers.
“At Remy, our export team consisting of Raf Kureshi, vice president, export leadership, is focusing on selling the quality and engineering aspects of our products that come from our being an OEM supplier to manufacturers of automotive, heavy duty, equipment and agricultural vehicles. We find that story combined with excellent level of service resonates with our export customers who are faced with keeping fleet vehicles functioning in some of the most remote parts of the globe," said Sanchez.
In the past year, following the creation of the export team, export sales at Remy have more than doubled, according to Kureshi.
“We have a long way to go, but it is gratifying to see that our regional export sales and marketing strategy is allowing the team to make progress in a very competitive global marketplace,” he said.
