Former U.S. Education Secretary Appointed to UTI Board

PHOENIX -- Universal Technical Institute Inc. (UTI) has appointed Dr. Roderick Paige to serve on its board of directors.

Paige served as the United States Secretary of Education from 2001 to 2005. He received his doctorate and masters in health and physical education from Indiana University and his bachelor’s degree from Jackson State University.

"Our extensive search has culminated in an extraordinary addition to our board of directors," said Kimberly McWaters, president and CEO of UTI. "The addition of Dr. Paige's skill sets and experience in education will be a significant benefit to our board, employees, current and future students and other stakeholders."

"I am very pleased that Dr. Paige has agreed to join our board," added board chairman John White. "He brings tremendous educational and regulatory experience from his 53-year career in the education sector. We look forward to his contributions."
