BETHESDA, Md. – The Car Care Council has received top national media honors from the North American Precis Syndicate Inc. (NAPS) for its consumer print article titled “Tips on Driving a ‘Greener’ Car.” The print release news release sparked an extraordinarily high volume of placements by America’s publications, according to the council.

“Tips on Driving a ‘Greener’ Car” had 636 placements with 58 percent in the leading 50 media markets, the council said, placing it in the top one-quarter of 1 percent of all releases distributed to the media by NAPS. By comparison, print features typically generate, on average, 100 to 400 placements, with 400 rarely being reached, the council noted.

“We are very proud to be acknowledged again for outstanding media relations,” said Rich White, executive director, Car Care Council. “This prestigious recognition is more evidence that the Car Care Council has made a real impact on the consumer media, delivering the right vehicle maintenance information at the right time.”

Earlier this year, the Car Care Council and Maximum Marketing Services Inc. received a Silver Anvil Award of Excellence from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) for the “Be Car Care Aware” consumer education campaign. The Award of Excellence, which recognizes outstanding strategic public relations planning and implementation, was presented during the Silver Anvil Awards Ceremony held June 3 in New York City.
