TecDoc and TecCom to Merge

From MEMA Industry News

The shareholders of TecDoc Informations System GmbH and TecCom GmbH have agreed to merge both organizations in 2013. The two companies said this merger will reinforce the core competences of the two established branch solutions.

Effective immediately, product and sales strategies will be closely linked together creating synergies for the customer, which are to be found in the combined use of the solutions. The newly combined companies say they will make the independent vehicle parts aftermarket even more efficient and lower costs in the supply chain. For that reason, Uli Zehnpfenning, currently managing director at TecDoc and Jürgen Buchert, currently managing director at TecCom, will jointly take over the management of both companies.

Through the merger, the new company will develop a comprehensive information platform named TecRMI. The platform will provide information regarding the repair and maintenance of vehicles to the whole independent aftermarket.

“As vehicles become increasingly complex and their technical components more extensive, the search for all the necessary information to carry out a competent repair is becoming uneconomic for individual market participants. For this reason we will also establish a genuine branch solution in the vehicle repair and maintenance sector," said Zehnpfenning, who is also responsible for the TecRMI project.

Buchert added, “In addition to parts identification, TecRMI will also make technical data available and thus simplify the repair jobs for the independent workshops. With such a platform we will support the efficiency of the independent vehicle service market.”
