HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. Tom Moreland, board chairman for I-CAR, The Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair, has issued a call for candidates, to identify a replacement for current I-CAR President and CEO John Edelen. Edelen announced his decision to retire at a company meeting at the I-CAR Training Support Center, on Thursday, Sept. 2.
“Based on John’s decision to leave at the end of 2010, we are officially opening the search for his successor with a call for candidates for the position of president and CEO of I-CAR,” said Moreland. “With the introduction of the I-CAR Professional Development Program in 2010, and the planned introduction of a more robust online training curriculum and a new training and development program for the technical schools and colleges in 2011, the near-term strategies and activities of the organization have been fairly well-defined.”
Moreland continued, “Given the significant improvement in the financial condition of the organization and its improved efficiency and effectiveness at a staff level, I-CAR is very well-positioned, financially and operationally, to serve the collision industry in the coming years.”
The board has appointed a CEO Search Committee, comprised of current and past board members, and the committee has retained the services of Automotive Recruiters International Inc., to assist in the CEO search and selection process.
