BIRMINGHAM, Ala. Matt Mangas has been promoted to president of Perfection, a Marmon Highway Technologies/Berkshire Hathaway company that supplies a full line of clutches and related products to the light-vehicle aftermarket.
Mangas joined Perfection in 2007 as vice president and general manager after 18 years in management roles with Dana Corp., including assignments in Germany, Mexico and Asia. He succeeds Jim Ott, who is retiring after serving as president of Perfection since 2000. Ott continues to serve as chairman emeritus.
In announcing Mangas’s appointment, Kelly Dier, president of Marmon Highway Technologies (MHT), noted that MHT’s succession planning process enables a seamless transition in leadership.
“This is an ideal situation for Perfection and its customers,” Dier said. “Under Jim’s leadership, Perfection has established an outstanding record of customer service and value. Now he is turning over the reins to Matt, an experienced executive who has made significant contributions to Perfection’s success while working closely with Jim over the past three years. Under Matt and his team, and with Jim’s support, Perfection will continue to grow both domestically and, increasingly, on a global basis.”
Based in Timmonsville, S.C., Perfection supplies the passenger car and light truck aftermarket with clutches, flywheels and clutch hydraulics. In addition to its headquarters location, Perfection has operations in Reno, Nev., and Shanghai, China.
MHT supports the highway transportation industry worldwide with a wide range of quality products and services. MHT businesses operate independently within four groups: Automotive Aftermarket, Commercial Truck, Trailer and Undercarriage.
