SOUTHFIELD, Mich. and GERMANTOWN, Tenn. R. L. Polk & Co. has been selected by the Automotive Distribution Network (ADN) the umbrella organization for Parts Plus, Independent Auto Parts of America, Auto Pride and CMB Network as its partner to provide light-, medium- and heavy-duty vehicles in operation data to its members. A multi-year agreement between the two organizations was signed last week.
Key to ADN’s members will be the utilization of Polk Vehicles In Operation (VIO) data in the newly created Network Intelligence inventory management system, the data warehouse solution being developed by Activant Solutions Inc. and ADN.
“Polk is excited to have been chosen as ADN’s light- and heavy-duty VIO provider,” said Mark Seng, vice president, aftermarket and commercial vehicle sales and client services for Polk. “In addition, the Network Intelligence solution, which is powered by Polk data, will provide crucial, real-time information to more effectively manage members’ inventory across the network. It’s a real game-changing solution, and we’re proud to have been selected by ADN.”
Polk's VIO data is based on a census of all vehicles currently registered in the U.S. and Canada. The data is compiled quarterly and covers all passenger cars and trucks. Information is compiled for all 50 states and is available by geography, vehicle information and historical data. Use of Polk’s VIO data helps to ensure effective inventory efficiency and overall management.
"We saw Polk as the vendor most suited to providing value to our membership due to its leadership position in providing inventory and product management data solutions to the aftermarket," said Mike Lambert, president of the Network. "We are excited to be working with Polk."
