BRUSSELS, BELGIUM and KUNZELSAU, GERMANY -- WABCO Holdings Inc. and Würth Group have launched new joint company, WABCOWÜRTH Workshop Services GmbH, which will introduce a new technology diagnostic system and integrated suite of software and technical support for servicing electronic components and systems in commercial vehicles across Europe.

A tier-one supplier to the commercial vehicle industry, for more than 30 years, WABCO has brought to market the majority of technology breakthroughs in safety and control systems for trucks, buses and trailers. WABCO's pioneering engineering also includes electronic system development for integrating braking, suspension and advanced driver assistance systems. Through its automotive division, Würth Group is a high-quality supplier and award-winning distributor of automotive products and equipment to professional workshops in more than 84 countries worldwide.

As manufacturers continue to increasingly equip their different brands of commercial vehicles with onboard electronic components and systems, WABCOWÜRTH Workshop Services will introduce a highly innovative multi-brand technology diagnostic system. Unlike other such systems that can be used for multiple brands of vehicles, WABCOWÜRTH Workshop Services promises to offer a solution that fully integrates the industry-leading competence and software diagnostics of WABCO.

Operating through its selected distributors, WABCOWÜRTH Workshop Services will supply commercial vehicle workshops, fleet owners and operators and end users internationally.

WABCOWÜRTH Workshop Services plans the European launch of its multi-brand technology diagnostic system in April. As they maintain and repair electronics on trucks, buses and trailers, aftermarket customers can more efficiently and effectively satisfy their technology diagnostic needs for many brands of vehicles by using the only multi-brand tool that integrates WABCO's industry-leading competence and software diagnostics.

Claus Hell and Frank Bartsch have been named managing directors of WABCOWÜRTH Workshop Services, which is 50 percent owned by WABCO and 50 percent owned by Würth. Prior to joining the new company, Hell headed aftermarket diagnostic services at WABCO and Bartsch headed sales at Würth's commercial vehicle division in Germany.
