DENSO to Establish New Company in Morocco to Produce Car Air Conditioning Systems

KARIYA, Japan -- On April 1, DENSO Corp. will establish a new company in Tangier, Northern Morocco, Africa, to produce car air conditioning systems. The new company is DENSO's second production base in Africa and will offer car air conditioning systems to plants of automakers in the country.

Construction of the plant is scheduled to be completed in April 2011. The new company, DENSO Thermal Systems Morocco S.A.R.L., is expected to begin operations in December 2011.

The company has been established with roughly 2.5 million euro in capital (approximately $3.3 million) and will invest up to 11.4 million euro ($15.2 million) by fiscal year 2011. DENSO Thermal Systems Morocco is expected to post sales of 12 million euro (about $16 million) in fiscal year 2013.

The business, which is part of DENSO Thermal Systems S.p.A., based in Poirino, Italy, will initially employ about 90 people.
