JACKSON, Mich. -- Melling Tool Co. this week announced a tentative agreement for the purchase of Rush Metals in Billings, Okla. The deal is expected to close in mid-March.
 
A subsidiary of Cloyes Gear and Products Inc., Rush Metals manufactures a wide variety of sintered metal products serving the automotive, industrial, agriculture and automotive aftermarket components industries. Rush Metals has been in business for 45 years, the past 30 as a Cloyes company.

"This business provides Melling an opportunity for some additional vertical integration, which fits well with our overall growth strategy. We are also quite impressed with the facility, their strong processing skills and the diversity of the customer base. And of course, we are excited to welcome the management team and employees of Rush Metals into the Melling family."

Melling plans to rename the facility Melling Sintered Metals.
