POMONA, Calif. -- Prolong Super Lubricants has announced its sponsorship of Sprint Car racer Mathew "Mad Dog" Shedarowich, the youngest competitor in the USAC/CRA Racing Series. Shedarowich drives a USAC 410 cubic-inch, non-wing Sprint Car emblazoned with the Prolong Super Lubricants logo.
"We are excited to sponsor Mathew's successful second season competing in the highly competitive traveling USAC/CRA Racing Series," said Jeff Victer, domestic/international sales manager, Prolong. "Many of the season's races will be held in conjunction with the USAC National Sprint cars, pitting Mathew against the best drivers in the country, including some top NASCAR regulars, and we look forward to being a part of this next step in his racing career."
At only 17 years old, Shedarowich is already veteran behind the wheel, with more than 12 years of racing experience. He has completed thousands of laps at more 20 different race tracks during the course of his driving career.
"Prolong is a great partner for us," said Darryl Shedarowich, team manager/crew chief of MDS Motorsports. "In addition to the company's wonderful support, the high-performance benefits afforded by the Prolong line of products give us a valuable edge in the racing environment."
Shedarowich, a student at Mira Monte High School in Mission Viejo, Calif., is also an involved member of his community and was recently honored at the annual USAC/CRA banquet with "The Humanitarian of the Year Award" for his work with a number of children's charities.
Upcoming Sprint Car races for Mathew Shedarowich include March 27 and April 10 at Perris Auto Speedway (Perris, Calif.); May 1 at Victorville Auto Raceway (Victorville, Calif.); and a return to Perris on May 29. He is on the schedule for 29 race dates before the 2010 season concludes Nov. 27.
