AKRON, Ohio -- In a surprise move, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has made Rich Kramer its new CEO and president.

Bob Keegan, 62, who held the positions of chairman and CEO, will remain as executive chairman of the board.

Kramer, 46, will take the CEO title on Apr. 13.

Kramer, 46, joined Goodyear in 2000 and was named COO in June 2009, even as he was serving as president of Goodyear’s North American Tire unit.

"Rich brings to the table a deep knowledge of Goodyear, our global markets, manufacturing, finance and technology. Our company will be in good hands," Keegan said. (Tire Review)
