PENDLETON, Ind. -- Remy Inc. has announced the introduction of a four-year, unlimited mile warranty for all new school bus applications equipped with the Delco Remy 40SI high output alternator. In addition, Remy issued a three-year warranty with unlimited miles on its 28SI high output series for the same applications.

The Delco Remy 28SI and 40SI meet or exceed all state school bus specification requirements. Slow speeds and short distances between stops are common running conditions for school buses. This type of operation requires an alternator that can put the optimum level of amperage back into the battery between stops. Delco Remy alternators address this issue by coming equipped with Remote Sense. This technology optimizes battery state of charge and is proven to extend the life of the battery.
 
Delco Remy high output alternators are available in 160, 180, 200, 240, 275 and 300 amps, depending on the power needed for the electrical load. The 28SI and 40SI perform at efficiency ratings as high as 70 percent, the highest available in their class. High efficiency translates to less horsepower requirements, resulting in substantial fuel savings. High temperature ratings of 125 degrees C/257 degrees F protect the Delco Remy models from extreme under hood temperatures.
