General Parts Inc. Names Richard McCook Executive Vice President and CFO

RALEIGH, N.C. – General Parts International Inc. (GPI) President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Temple Sloan III today announced that Richard McCook has been named executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective Monday, Feb. 1. He will report directly Sloan and will serve on the GPI Executive Committee.

“Richard comes to General Parts International Inc. with more than 34 years experience in operational improvements, renegotiations, developing pricing and planning strategy and developing budgets,” Sloan said. “He will make a great addition to the GPI team.”

Prior to joining GPI, McCook worked as executive vice president and chief financial officer for U.S. Oncology in Houston, Texas, where he was responsible for leading the company effort to focus more on operational improvements than solely on sales, technology advancements and transactions. McCook also worked for Raytech Corp. as executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer; Winn Dixie Stores as senior vice president, chief financial officer and financial vice president; and at KPMG  Peat Marwick as senior audit manager. He recently was employed at Tatum LLC in Jacksonville, Fla., where he was a partner.

McCook received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Florida State University, as well as a master of accountancy degree. He graduated Magna Cum Laude and Summa Cum Laude, respectively.
