STAMFORD, Conn. -- Ed Maxwell Sales Inc., a government contract sales company focused on helping agencies satisfy the government's aggressive green goals, has secured a General Service Administration (GSA) Award contract for Green Earth Technologies, a leading manufacturer and marketer of "green" environmentally safe consumer packaged goods products. GSA offers a variety of environmental products and services for purchase to its federal customers including more than 1,000 government and military fleet operations and organizations to assist them in their efforts to comply with procurement responsibilities outlined in federal environmental laws and regulations.
Under the award, Green Earth Technologies' G-OIL 5W-30 bio-based motor oil will be featured in the GSA catalog, allowing federal customers the opportunity to purchase a greener option. Those who buy G-OIL and other Green Earth Technologies' products will have the opportunity to fulfill their green quotas, ultimately increasing the energy efficiency of the federal fleet, providing long-term environmental benefits and savings for the American taxpayer, helping with efforts to reduce the federal government's consumption of energy, and increasing our use of clean and renewable sources of energy.
Federal Agencies are mandated by the Energy Policy Act (EPAct), Executive Order 13423, and the Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA) to purchase alternative fuel vehicles, increase consumption of alternative fuels and to reduce petroleum consumption. The GSA Fleet is committed to green alternatives through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Potential customers for G-OIL through the contract include more than 212,000 GSA vehicles, 221,000 postal vehicles and 187,493 Department of Defense fleet vehicles.
"The purchasing power of the government can vastly make a difference in our carbon footprint, reducing greenhouse gases and our dependency on foreign oil," said Jeffrey Loch, chief marketing officer and founder of Green Earth Technologies. "We are proud to achieve the GSA Contract and look forward to continuing our work with Ed Maxwell Sales, as we aim to obtain a second contract for our G-Branded automotive appearance and cleaning products."
