STAUNTON, Va. – Federated member Hovis Auto and Truck Supply recently opened a new distribution center facility in Mercer, Pa., featuring nearly 100,000 square feet with six loading docks plus two additional buildings with a combined 55,000 square feet for future growth.

“At Hovis, we are committed to keeping pace in a rapidly changing market,” said Cliff Hovis, president of Hovis Auto and Truck Supply. “Our new distribution and training center is a state-of-the-art facility, providing us the opportunity to capitalize on changes in technology and quality parts in today's fast-paced economy. It will not only help us grow our business but will be extremely beneficial to our customers and manufacturing partners as well.”

In addition to the warehouse space, the center boasts a new training facility that allows Hovis to offer in-house seminars and clinics. The facility holds up to 100 trainees and more than 600 people have already received training at the new center.

As part of the grand opening festivities, more than 500 customers and guests from Pennsylvania, Ohio and New York were treated to food and beverages, door prizes provided by manufacturers and an autograph signing session with NASCAR driver Dave Blaney. Customers also had the opportunity to speak with more than 50 manufacturer representatives and view their product lines.

Located in western Pennsylvania, Hovis Auto and Truck Supply has been a family-owned business since 1952. Since that time, it has grown to 12 locations plus the new warehouse facility. Hovis executives are industry leaders with President Cliff Hovis currently serving on the executive committee and board of governors for Federated Auto Parts while Vice President Curt Hovis serves on a variety of paint, body and equipment manufacturer boards.

“We want to congratulate Cliff and Curt on the opening of their new distribution center,” said Rusty Bishop, CEO of Federated Auto Parts. “We know this has been their goal for a long time and everyone at Federated is thrilled to help them achieve their dream. Like all of our members, we value their loyalty and commitment to Federated and we wish them continued success as they expand their business.”
