Brembo’s Brembo Nanjing Foundry Co. Ltd. and Donghua Automotive Industrial Co. Ltd. signed agreements to purchase foundry plants and equipment in China.

The deal gives Brembo an integrated production center in Nanjing, including a foundry and factory for brake calipers and rotors for cars and commercial vehicles.

The products would target the Chinese vehicle market, Brembo said.

"The creation of the new industrial hub in China," said Alberto Bombassei, Brembo's chairman and CEO, "is the third important phase of our growth, after 10 years of production in the country. With the establishment of the new industrial center in Nanjing, Brembo will be able to deal with in a structured manner and efficiently serve China's car and commercial vehicle market, now the world's largest, with approximately 13.5 million vehicles.”

Brembo Nanjing Foundry paid Donghua approximately $13 million for its assets. (Tire Review)
