WALLED LAKE, Mich. – Matrix System Automotive Finishes has been selected by Discovery Channel’s “Motor City Motors” as one of the suppliers for the show’s season debut. The first episode aired on Dec. 28.

“Motor City Motors” features two brothers and founders of Detroit Brothers Custom Cycles, Jamie and Dave Kaye, who are highly acclaimed bike designers and builders. Together, they are on a mission to turn average vehicles into outrageous, never-before-seen contraptions, which include “The Gasser,” “The Asphaulter” and “The Cornstalker,” to name a few. Each week, the show provides the guys five days to work their magic and produce a masterpiece while under fierce time constraints. In the end, each local builder receives $5,000 worth of tools to take home for completing the project.

According to Discovery Channel, “Motor City Motors pushes the boundaries of automotive engineering to create one-of-a-kind vehicles, limited only by their ingenuity and imagination, with a five-day limit for each build – redefining ingenuity under pressure, a hallmark of Discovery Channel programming.” The first episode featured the team taking a Ford Model T and transforming it into a dragster.

“We hope that this show will bring a new outlook to Detroit and the automotive industry,” said Dave Brunori, vice president of Matrix System Automotive Finishes. “We were presented with this opportunity and knew that it was one that we just couldn’t pass up.”

Matrix System Automotive Finishes, subsidiary of Quest Specialty Chemicals, has grown to be one of the industry’s most successful aftermarket manufacturers of high-quality clear coats, primers, hardeners, reducers and premium color products. Today, the AccuShade Intermix System, from Matrix System, now leads the product line, giving body shops the ability to make more than 60,000 colors with exact formulas and 2.1 VOC-compliant products for California and other areas.
