STRASBURG, Ohio -- The newly launched American Aftermarket Group LLC (AAG), a business-to-business marketing, promotional and consulting group, has been founded by 25-year automotive aftermarket industry veteran Todd Roberson. The business was established to help retailer and supplier members increase sales and improve margins through its innovative business model.

Roberson, along with 15-year automotive veteran Mike Gatti and select industry partners, created AAG as a collection of selected automotive brick and mortar aftermarket retailers and manufacturers that work together to increase margins and sales by offering an alternate option to current distribution channels.

With the AAG system, retailers order products directly from supplier members through a Web-based business-to-business portal built on the Amazon Web Services EC2 model. The model uses cloud technology -- an emerging approach to shared infrastructures that provide common business applications on the Internet -- to create simple online order placement and rapid order processing.

"This business structure is very common and successful in other industries and we are very excited to introduce it to the automotive aftermarket," said Roberson, president, AAG. "Our system is designed to eliminate unnecessary overhead and redistribute the savings to all of our members, resulting in a better bottom line for everyone."

To further simplify the distribution process, many AAG suppliers have built the shipping costs into unit prices, and each AAG retail member is assigned an AAG supplier account manager to improve factory direct customer service.

"After one year in business, our ordering process has been flawless," said Roberson. "Our retailers report that orders through AAG are more accurate, and the amount of damaged product has been comparatively less than when using traditional distribution methods."

In addition to simplifying the distribution process, members receive key information regarding product trends and important national sales benchmarks compiled by AAG's leading technology that can help them run more successful businesses.
