AUSTIN, Texas -- Precision Fleet Brakes has signed a seven-year agreement with Air Liquide, through which Air Liquide will supply liquid nitrogen to Precision’s state-of-the-art cryogenic production center in Gardena, Calif.
Precision used cryogenic brake technology to treat brake rotors through the use of very low temperatures. Liquid nitrogen is an important component in this process as it is used to cool the rotors. Cryogenically processed brake components have an extended life of up to four times longer than original equipment, according to Precision Fleet Brakes.
“We are honored to partner with Air Liquide to fulfill our liquid nitrogen needs and we look forward to a long and successful relationship with the company,” said Zane McCarthy, president and CEO of Precision Fleet Brakes. “I previously worked with Air Liquide with our partner Controlled Thermal Processing and they offered outstanding service and top-quality products.”
Air Liquide is the world leader in gases for industry, health and the environment, and is present in more than 75 countries with 43,000 employees. Oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and rare gases have been at the core of Air Liquide’s activities since its creation in 1902. Using these molecules, Air Liquide continuously reinvents its business, anticipating the needs of current and future markets.
