VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Visteon has been presented with the 2009 Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility for companies in Michigan. The Alfred P. Sloan Awards for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility are part of When Work Works, a national project on workplace effectiveness and workplace flexibility from Families and Work Institute in partnership with The Center for Workforce Preparation, an affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the Twiga Foundation.

One of 37 honorees, Visteon was the only automotive-related company recognized for its progressive programs that promote work-life integration, including opportunities for employees to adopt flexible work schedules and access the Visteon information technology network from remote locations.

The award was presented in a ceremony on Sept. 11 in Lansing, Mich.

"To be recognized for exemplary workplace practices is an honor," said Dorothy Stephenson, senior vice president, human resources. "We are proud that employees at Visteon have successfully participated in and benefited from our various flexible work arrangements, further demonstrating Visteon's commitment to work-life balance and our respect for employees."
