BETHESDA, Md. – Attendees will become active participants in the first-ever Virtual Aftermarket eForum on Wednesday, Sept. 30. The eForum is the industry's only conference focused exclusively on e-business and supply chain technology topics, and this year's event will open up an entire virtual world to attendees.

On the day of the event, attendees can visit the auditorium to view any of four scheduled keynote presentations. Online chats and Q&A sessions will allow participants to have their questions answered by the speakers and share their thoughts about the presentations. They can also personalize their profile in the eForum world and even assign an avatar or image to their record using the login information they received when they registered.

Attendees visiting the Networking Lounge can interact virtually with other attendees and contribute to some of the ongoing discussion threads. Between presentations, attendees can go to the Resource Library to download a relevant white paper or presentation into their virtual event bag.

The Virtual Trade Show component will feature a number of technology and e-business solutions providers. By visiting their online booths, participants can chat with booth reps, browse the product brochures and other collateral, and enter a drawing for a door prize. All of the familiar elements of a physical trade show are available with the click of a mouse.

"The Virtual Aftermarket eForum will save attendees the time and expense associated with travel to a location-based conference," said Scott Luckett, AAIA vice president, technology standards. "Additionally, this virtual event will provide much of the same experience and interaction of a physical event – all from the convenience of the attendee's home or office."

The cost to register for the eForum is $95 after early-bird and association member discounts. Presentations, content and vendor exhibits will be available on-demand for six months following the live day on Sept. 30.
