RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. North American aftermarket suppliers are looking to new global markets to increase sales. As the only organization in the industry exclusively representing North American suppliers/exporters, AASA’s Overseas Automotive Council (OAC) offers information and networking opportunities for those interested in the global automotive aftermarket.
OAC’s Member Lounge is the gathering spot for international visitors during AAPEX, offering a window to the global automotive aftermarket. The OAC Member Lounge has a new location for AAPEX 2009, in Room 103 on the first level of the Sands Expo Center, next door to the AASA Member Center in Rooms 104-106.
Since 1923, OAC has promoted the export sales of North American-made automotive products throughout the world products such as components, accessories, chemicals, hand and power tools, service maintenance and repair equipment and paint and body supplies for both cars and trucks.
The council’s domestic and international members are involved with sales of automotive products and services beyond U.S. borders. They are automotive aftermarket international/export executives, original equipment (OE) parts manufacturers, freight forwarders, importers, distributors, export management companies and manufacturers’ sales representatives. OAC’s board of directors includes North American manufacturers, exporters and international importers of North American products.
“The OAC Member Lounge is an international crossroads at AAPEX. It is an excellent place for exhibitors to visit and network, whether they currently export or are considering export of their products,” noted Jeremy Denton, OAC executive director. “Its new location beside the AASA Member Center allows members and nonmembers to explore the advantages of membership in the association and the OAC and to learn more about the global automotive aftermarket,” he added.
OAC’s AAPEX meeting space is a convenient and private meeting place for members and guests. Tickets for the AAIW/OAC International Reception on Tuesday, Nov. 3, will also be available for purchase. Tickets for the 2008 OAC/AAIW International Buyers Appreciation Breakfast scheduled for 7-9 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 4, also will be available.
