WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) has set June 29 as the date it will announce its proposed “remedy” to an alleged overabundance of Chinese-made consumer radials.

Last week, the ITC – by a 4-2 vote – agreed with a USW complaint that growing importation of China-produced passenger and light truck/SUV tires had led to tire plant closures and job losses in the U.S.

The ITC’s recommendation will be sent on to President Obama for his action, which is expected by the end of September. (Courtesy of Tire Review/Akron)
