FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Original Engine Management (OEM), a supplier of import engine management components and filters, announced this week that it will fund the purchase of Auto International Association’s (AIA) Import Parts Specialist tests as a value-added service to its customers.

Jeff Olefson, president of OEM, said, “Now, more than ever, it is important that our distributors have all of their countermen certified as Import Parts Specialists. Not only will they sell more import parts, but they will have fewer returns because of their deeper understanding of import vehicle systems.”

To date, more than 3,000 aftermarket professionals have earned the Import Parts Specialist certification, and 750 professionals have earned the Master's Level certification.

“This certification is an untapped resource for most of the market,” said Olefson. “Not only does it give countermen more confidence to sell import parts, it gives them tremendous credibility with their customers.”
