James Shaw Holden Barker, president and director of Delphi Diesel Systems Service Mexico, S.A. de C.V. for Mexico and Central America, passed away June 18. He also was country manager for Delphi Parts and Service Solutions.
 
Barker previously worked for Pettibone de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. as general manager and held various management positions within the manufacturing operations of several companies including Koratron, S.A. de C.V., Grinnel de Mexico, and Vendo Montiel. He started his career with the General Electric Co., as a manufacturing engineer.
 
He obtained his bachelor of science degree from Oklahoma State University in industrial engineering and management and has successfully finished the course of Alta Dirección de Empresas from the IPADE.
 
In addition, he was the president of the British Chamber of Commerce and was also on the board of trustees of the American British Cowdray Medical Center as well as former president of the Association of Diesel Specialists Latin American Committee from 1986 to 1988.
 
Barker was born in Mexico of British parents. He was married to Missy, and they had three children and six grandchildren.
