SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -- As part of continuous improvement efforts, R. L. Polk & Co. has introduced the industry's only web-based interactive system for analyzing the vehicle population in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.

Polk has been offering National Vehicle Population Profile information for 15 years. To assist customers with even more robust insight into the aftermarket, Polk has now introduced improvements to its NVPP solution with a new online portal for its customers, including original equipment manufacturers, parts manufacturers, aftermarket distributors, aftermarket retailers and automotive insurance companies. The new technology offers customers easier, faster and broader availability to vehicle population statistics provided by Polk.

NVPP information is updated quarterly and Polk customers will be able to view up to five quarters of information at once to help with their business planning needs. As the only Internet-based solution in the industry offering vehicle population data, NVPP offers customers query capability and access to vehicle population data from the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico all within the same portal. NVPP information previously was only available via CD-ROM and by individual region.

The improvements allow for access sharing among an entire organization, rather than just one or two terminals or computers that allowed access at a customer location.

"By allowing our customers to access NVPP via the web, we are providing the quickest access and easiest navigation of vehicle statistics possible," said Mark Seng, vice president - sales and client services for Polk. "It also demonstrates Polk's continuing technology improvement as we look for additional ways to meet the evolving requirements of our customers."
