PHILADELPHIA -- Pep Boys will hold open buying days in June, during which current and new merchandise suppliers are invited to present to Pep Boys their latest "hot products" or new data on previously pitched items for on-the-spot buying consideration.
Interested suppliers can make a brief appointment to present their products or product line to Pep Boys category managers. (This is supplemental to existing category line reviews, says the retailer.)
Appointments will be available on Monday, June 22 between 1-4 p.m. and Tuesday, June 23 between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. and 1-4 p.m. at Pep Boys’ corporate headquarters, located at 3111 W. Allegheny Avenue in Philadelphia, Pa., 19132.
All appointments must be made via Pep Boys’ Merchandising hotline at 215-430-9557; no calls are to be placed directly to the category manager team.
Suppliers and potential suppliers should be prepared with documented facts and market and sales data about their product(s), as well as a good case for why it serves the needs of Pep Boys customers. The presentation will need to be concise, as appointments are brief.
Pep Boys says it will make order commitments on both days.
Suppliers are limited to bringing two or three attendees. Samples are acceptable during appointment; but none are to be sent in advance.
