MCLEAN, Va. and GRAPEVINE, Texas -- National Pronto Association released its newest version of ProntoDX, a Document Exchange [EDI] Program from Corcentric that allows its members to electronically verify invoice pricing from suppliers, preview shipping manifests in advance of receipt and analyze accumulated purchasing information based on old and new pricing scenarios. This paperless solution from ProntoDX is being made available at no charge to the Pronto's independent aftermarket warehouse distributors.

To enable vendor participation in this program, document mapping is provided by Corcentric for ProntoDX vendors at no charge. Corcentric is able to translate from any, to any format, including, but not limited to, flat files to XML, as well as EDI formats.

"We are committed to educating and providing our membership with the electronic tools they need to migrate from a paper-centered world to the new electronic realm," said Michael Mitchell, National Pronto's director of supply chain management. "Electronic Data Interchange is the new industry standard and the Corcentric system makes it available to all of our member companies, regardless of their size. It will give them the advantage they need to compete for market share and profitability."

The Corcentric ProntoDX solution provides Pronto's members with an electronic portal to deliver digital documents in the format required by each individual warehouse management or business system, eliminating the need for paper. This will immediately decrease by more than half the price-per-invoice handling cost. It will also save thousands of dollars annually in staff handling, postage and filing expenses.

The Corcentric ProntoDX solution expedites invoice approvals, automatically validating the program pricing negotiated by Pronto without the need to manually compare invoices with purchase orders. And because the invoices are readily available for review online, the approval process is streamlined and accounts can be settled much faster, allowing members to take full advantage of early pay discounts.

The Corcentric ProntoDX system also allows Pronto members to view their shipping manifests in advance of delivery, alerting them to exactly what merchandise will be received and helping them to plan accordingly for back ordered items.

In addition, members have the ability to create "what if" financial scenarios with just the click of a mouse. Using accumulated electronic purchasing information, they are able to analyze the impact future price changes will have on their profitability goals. Without Corcentric ProntoDX, the raw data needed for this analysis would need to be entered manually.

"EDI is the future of accounting," said Dave Lindeen, vice president of Corcentric. "It's also the right thing to do for the environment. In just one year, our system was used to process 1.7 million transactions valued at more than a billion dollars, which saved an estimated 832 trees and 18.7 million pieces of paper, according to the Gartner Group. By streamlining their back office processes with the Corcentric system, Pronto members will continue saving time and cutting costs, all the while helping to reduce environmental waste."
