In troubled times, people seek comfort and advice in myriad forms. We look for words of wisdom wherever we can find them. And whether it's a classic text or new to the best-seller list, business advice books are a good resource for those seeking professional direction.

For last week's survey, we asked AMN readers which popular business book should be required reading for aftermarket executives. First published in 1936, Dale Carnegie's best-selling self-help book "How to Win Friends & Influence People" took the lead with nearly 40 percent of the votes. The book, based on a 14-week course Carnegie taught, has sold 15 million copies worldwide.

The breakdown of survey responses is as follows:

Which of these popular business books should be required reading for aftermarket execs?

Dale Carnegie, "How to Win Friends & Influence People": 35.9%

Warren Buffet, "The Essays of Warren Buffet: Lessons for Corporate America": 30.77%

Thomas L. Friedman, "The World is Flat": 20.51%

Jim Collins, "Good to Great": 12.82%
