Last week, we asked AMN readers to tell us whether or not they would encourage their child to pursue a career in the aftermarket. We must preface the results by explaining that this the first time we have asked this question, and we will do so again in several months for comparison’s sake.

But, as it stands now, the majority – nearly 69 percent – have said that they would not encourage their son or daughter to pursue the automotive aftermarket as a career path. One can speculate that the difficult global economic conditions, particularly in the automotive sector, could be influencing this decision. It will be interesting to see the results when we ask this question again in several months.
