CHANTILLY, Va. Fernand Weiland and Joe Kripoli, co-charimen of the Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association’s (APRA) Electronics and Mechatronics Division, have announced the final program for the International Big R Show. This clinic will be held on Monday, Nov. 3 at 2pm at the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
“The Electronics and Mechatronics Clinic will benefit those interested in the future of remanufacturing new technologies for power steering, braking, engine management and electrical,” said Weiland.
The clinic program will cover:
“Remanufacturing of Mechatronics Technologies and Opportunities,” Rolf Steinhilper and Ronny Fritsche from the University of Bayreuth in Germany;
“Focus on Hybrid Electrical Systems,” Voiko Loukanov of D & V Electronics in Canada;
“Introduction to Testing Electronic ECUs” Pete Fodor of PTM Electronics in Ann Arbor, Mich.; and
A panel discussion moderated by Weiland on how the remanufacturing of starters and alternators will change with the advent of hybrid and electric vehicles.
Kripoli added, “The future offers some great opportunities for remanufacturers and by learning as much as we can about the new emerging technologies then we will be prepared to take advantage of them.”
