ELYRIA, OH -- Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC, said it will add more than 30 engineers, information technology specialists and supply chain professionals to support its staff. Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems, a member of the Knorr-Bremse Group, supplies air brakes, charging and control systems and components, wheel-end and electronic braking systems, vehicle modules and leading-edge safety technologies under the Bendix brand name for medium-duty and heavy-duty trucks, tractors, trailers, buses and other commercial vehicles.

The company said surging demand for its medium- and heavy-duty truck products has resulted in the need for additional staff. Bendix currently employs 1,800 in North America, including 450 at its Elyria, Ohio, headquarters.

"We're in a growth mode due to surging demand for a number of new and innovative Bendix technologies and increased volume in medium and heavy-duty truck builds," said Steve Melfi, talent acquisition leader. "At a time when a number of Midwest employers are stagnant or downsizing, we're fortunate to be in a position to expand our employee base to help foster continued global expansion."

Company officials are planning a professional career fair on June 12 at its Elyria, Ohio, headquarters to help identify qualified candidates.

Potential candidates can find more information and pre-register for the career fair online at: www.bendix.com/careers.
