Jim Conner Retires after 23 Years at MEMA, HDMA

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC -- Jim Conner, vice president of MEMA, retired Aug. 31 after 23 years with MEMA and the Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA), the association's heavy duty market association.

Conner's accomplishments include establishing HDMA in 1983. Within HDMA, he initiated the Heavy Duty Dialogue and HDMA Breakfast & Briefing, two well-known and respected industry events. Conner also established the MEMA Japanese Vehicle Parts Catalog Program, an exclusive, annual program for members to order the replacement components catalogs from Japanese OEMs.

Among the industry honors Conner received are the Northwood Education Award in 1999 and the Overseas Automotive Council's (OAC) highest honor, the Lifetime Achievement Award, in 2001.
